PPC Affiliate Marketing – Part 1: Pixel Tracking (Maximize Your Money)

It always surprises me when PPC affiliates do not use pixel tracking to optimize their PPC campaigns. This becomes even more important with regards to Pay Per Lead Marketing using PPC. By installing a tracking pixel on the confirmation/thank you page of an offer, you can see which keyword the consumer has clicked on before filling out the lead or making a sale.

For example, if you have an offer that pays $8.00 per lead (see our offer # 93), then the goal is to have all your keywords converting at under $8.00 Cost Per Conversion. Here is a sample list of keywords:


Since you now know which keywords are performing best, you can optimize your campaign accordingly. In this example, I would pause traffic to “payday loans” and “cash advance”. I would keep “cash advance online” the same. And then I would increase my bid price on “need cash quickly”.

Click “Create an action”, name the action (ex. Pay Day Online), input your revenue per action (ex. $8), then “Save Action & Get Code” (don’t worry about the options, you won’t need that for this type of tracking). Finally, you will be sent to a page with the tracking pixel:



Simply copy and paste this code into an email to your affiliate manager. We will take care of the rest. (It will only take our team a few minutes to implement).

That’s it! You are all set to go to the next level of PPC Marketing. The stats will begin tracking in real-time and you can optimize as often as you would like.
